West never told how he came into possession of the fantastic alien device known as X-1, but people came from far and wide to see it.

Plot

A G'kra youth visits West because he heard West had a sentient robot beyond the Federation's technology for sale cheap. The youth questions the robot, which tells him fantastic tales and promises wealth and power.
