- On Independence Day July-4th 2032 the two former U.S. caribbean territories that were once known as Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands were both admitted into the union as one; as the single 51st state of America with it's capital being San Juan, then one year later during July-4th 2033 following the act of congress under banner of the Optimum Movement the state of New York was divided into two states, with Western New York becoming the U.S.'s 52nd State. Rochester is the capital of Western New York. The Albany legislature considers renaming the remaining counties Hudson, but the measure is voted down. Forty-seven years later during 2079 at the exact same patriotic holiday, the state of New Mexico was also divided into two states. north and south New Mexico, Trinity is the capital of the new 53rd state, eventually the state's name was changed to Cibola as a reference to legendary "Seven Cities of Gold" (Star Trek: Accord: "Lateral Drift", adapted from TNG: "The Royale")
