- The USS Enterprise-C, responding to a distress call from a Klingon outpost Narendra III under attack by four Romulan Warbirds, is transported forward in time from 2344 to this year by a temporal rift. (TNG: "Yesterday's Enterprise", "Redemption, Part II")
- This information is not general knowledge to most Starfleet officers as the Enterprise-C's absence from the normal timeline created an alternate timeline where the Klingon Empire was on the brink of winning the war against the Federation.
