Commander Aaron Michaels was the first officer of the USS Valkyrie (NCC-2590) from the late 2290s. (Star Trek: Valkyrie)
Michaels transferred to the ship at Starbase 62, shortly after Stardate 9958. He replaced Andrew Miller, who had taken command of his own ship after promotion to the rank of captain.
Michaels was new to the Valkyrie and had ancestors who had served in Starfleet since before the founding of the Federation. It was the opinion of some that this may have had an effect on his character and command style. (Star Trek: Valkyrie: "Changes")
