Adonis and Aphrodite is a story set in aboard the USS Black Hawk under the command of Admiral Jeffery Higdon. This story concentrates on a mission of the 263rd Marine Strike Group, under the command of Major William Hof, that goes horrably wrong. It is told from the prospective of Major Hof. The story itself can be found on the Facebook page of the author and is currently ongoing.

The Story

The USS Black Hawk is assisting in the construction of a new facility in a nearby system that will enhanse the facilities supplied by the nearby Starbase 12.

During the course of the construction a series of diplomatic mishaps causes the ambassador to request that a platoon from the 263rd be sent to help the ambassadorial detachment. When reports of sometime violent protest to Starfleet's presence is made, as series of diplomatic mishaps occurres. While Admiral Higdon and the Federation Ambassador to Lo'Sard, a Vulcan by the name of Sam’OL, have sometime heated discussions on the situation, Hof prepares the 263rd to assist with the situation.

After the unexpected explosion that destroys a Lo'Sard supply station Woldview-2. Later a video appears on the Yo’kelic transmission to the entire planetary entertainment grid that showed the Black Hawk apparently firing a pair of torpedoes into Worldview-2. Apparently fake, as the Black Hawk full complement of torpedoes are accounted for, Higdon contacts Sam’OL to have a contingent of Marines to beam down to complement the ambassadorial compounds thin complement of Marines. Reluctantly, the ambassador agrees with Higdon that all does not seem to be as it should and authorizes Higdon to send the Marine detachment.

Whe the bodies of the dead from Worldview-2 are brought abourd, instead of 10, which was expected, 40 bodies are recovered, many with Starfleet Marine combat armor and equipment. Hof orders a accounting of all the marines that were sent by the Black Hawk down to assist.
