Dr. Alaa was a Klingon historian. Most notable among Klingon scholars was her expertise about ancient university tuition history. However, as with most Klingon scholars, she was largely seen as a pariah in Klingon society. (Star Trek: The Stoneship Files: "Rode the 300")

History[]

While still a doctoral student in the 2390s, she built the Tuition Crisis holographic program as part of her thesis at Osric University; that program was later used by the Klingon Defense Force to train anti-riot police. She graduated and was hired as a professor at Osric University, where she still taught in 2401.

Her name started to circulate among Lyran Starfleet officials after a raid on Du'Qot that resulted in a plunder of a communications relay, after which her work came to light and used on Malachor V as an awareness-raising tool in a tuition crisis. (Star Trek: The Stoneship Files: "Rode the 300")

After being sentenced to one year of prison for libel, having written an history paper where she accused the Klingon High Council of neglecting higher education, she was captured by the Lyran Starfleet when the IKS Kartadza was captured and she was made available at the reaping that ensued, falling under Brianna Reiss' hands. She also assisted in the foundation of Angry Gréviste Studios before returning to her homeworld. (Star Trek: The Stoneship Files: "The Defector")

Background[]

Due to the use of photomanipulation, Alaa is "played" by Alaa Riahi.
