The Aleo class was a type of carrier fielded by the Federation Starfleet during the late 23rd and 24th centuries. The lead ship and class were originally proposed to Starfleet as the Advance by Avondale, during a competition between that company and Shor Ta'kel, who proposed the Jenshahn-class carriers.
The class was less than successful, and most of the ships planned made redundant after the Khitomer Accords. Of 21 planned, only nine were built.
By 2305, all nine of the extant Aleos were held in reserve at Starbase 62.
