Anthropology is the science that explores the origins, the physical and society development, the cultural development, as well as the beliefs (religion and philosophy) of a species.
It was considered by 20th century and 21st century humans, as well as 25th century Klingons and Lyrans, as a "dead-end" discipline, one that led university graduates to either low-pay or dead-end jobs. History
In 2410, at the USS Ragnarok's first staff meeting, Lieutenant Aramaki admitted he was a student of anthropology after reading symbols on a Verathan sub-ossemite statue, describing their cultural meanings. (Star Trek: Phoenix-X: "Department Heads")
Institutes of higher learning with anthropology programs
Concordia University, Laval University and the University of Montreal all have, in actuality, anthropology programs, all of which had their students that took part in the 2012 Quebec student strike until at least the passage of Act 78.
