The Armstrong class was a class of cruiser fielded by the Federation Starfleet during the 22nd and 23rd centuries.

The Armstrong class entered service in 2197 and along with the Venture class was meant to replace the aging Daedalus-class explorer. The Armstrong shared several design features with the Daedalus. The ship was made up of a spherical primary hull, which was more ovoid than that of the Daedalus, connected directly to a cylindrical engineering hull. The Armstrong is also said to be one of the first classes to have ship-based transporters as part of its initial design due to the technology becoming available in 2186. Star Trek: Enterprise would later set in canon that ship-based transporter technology had existed since the early-2150s.
