USS Voyager's astrometrics lab
Astrometrics is a name applied to a specialized lab, usually in the stellar cartography department aboard Starfleet vessels and Federation research ships. The astrometrics lab can also be used for subspace communications and as a work area for any projects requiring easy access to long-range sensors. Seven of Nine and Harry Kim designed an upgrade for the astrometrics lab aboard the USS Voyager, which became operational in 2374. A new astrometrics lab similar to Voyager's was installed on the USS Baldwin in mid 2375. (USS Baldwin:"Danger Zone") It became a tempting target for the Dominion, and the Dominion targeted Baldwin during one battle. Soon after, Baldwin captain Patrick Ingrum put Sarah Allison in charge of his "war room" (USS Baldwin: "Bullseye")
