The Atreides (CB-13) was a Lyran starship in service with the Lyran Starfleet in 2386. It was notable for being, along with her sister ships, a flying battering ram due to its very nature as an ESG Global Operations (EGO) Battlecruiser. (RIS Bouteina)
History[]
The Atreides was Pfrizzek's flagship during one of only three engagements the Lyran Democrative Republic fought in the Dominion War. As such, it engaged the USS Toronto, then captured by the Dominion, in single combat while the other ships engaged the Jem'Hadar battleship. (RIS Bouteina: "Yesterday's Lyrans")
Also, it was Brianna Reiss' flagship during a special mission who involved capturing a Kzinti starbase. After capturing the starbase, Brianna transferred her flag to the RIS Bouteina. Because of the lack of peacetime use for an EGO Battlecruiser, it was laid up "in ordinary", thus meaning that it remained as a reserve ship. (RIS Bouteina: "The Measure of a Romulan")
