Attack fighter

In starship classification, an attack fighter (fighter, or attack ship) is a relatively small, maneuverable, and heavily armed starship. It is primarily used to carry out assaults that larger vessels — such as dreadnoughts or Galaxy-class explorers — cannot perform.
