B.A. Mycroft

Barry Angel "B.A." Mycroft was a Starfleet engineer on active duty in the late 23rd and early 24th centuries. He was chief engineer of the USS Tristan and second-in-command. Tristan seemed to have no one in the billet of executive officer, except during Eva Privette's brief stint as XO.

Mycroft, a lieutenant commander, had left Earth under circumstances he preferred not to discuss. During a mission to investigate a Federation colony that had been out of contact for eight years, he became infatuated with one of the local colonists and considered staying, since his five-year enlistment was about to end. ("Between Two Worlds")

It was unrevealed why Mycroft, an officer, had an enlistment rather than a commission.

Mycroft had a sister named Becky Marie, three years younger, who was an exozoologist at the nature preserve on Cepheus II. ("Distant Echoes (Part 2)")
