The Badlands was a four-seater soapbox race extant in the 25th century, held on a dry track in the middle of a desertic region on Chelymun. Brianna Reiss' team placed 7th. (Star Trek: The Stoneship Files: "At the Soapbox Races")
Mrazek disliked the race since it was held on a dry track located in a region where sandstorms were common and, as such, preferred races like the Jadefire Run. even though the Jadefire Run was held at dusk (or night, depending on the heat). (Star Trek: The Stoneship Files: "Dilithium Dance")
