ORGANIZATION
Bajoran Nationalist Party
Expanded-Opaque
Founded: following the Occupation of Bajor
Type: political party
Abbreviation: Nationalists
Status: Active (2410)

The Bajoran Nationalist Party, also referred to as the Nationalists, was a Bajoran political party. (Bait and Switch: "From Bajor to the Black, Part I"; The War of the Masters: "Past Continuous", "Looking into Enemy Eyes")

Nationalists used green and gold as their colors. (The War of the Masters: "Past Continuous")

History[]

Prior to 2401, the Nationalists had opposed the disbandment of the Bajoran Militia's Space Arm, though an economic downturn around that time led to them being outvoted by the Socialists and the Conservative Association. (Bait and Switch: "From Bajor to the Black, Part I")

In 2410, Captain Kanril Eleya of the Federation Starfleet stated that she herself voted Nationalist most of the time and that they won three out of every five elections on Bajor. She indicated her vote was in opposition to Earth- and humanocentric policies and that she was opposed to secession. (The War of the Masters: "Looking into Enemy Eyes")

During the Jem'Hadar occupation of Deep Space 9, the Nationalists organized protests against the Federation-Klingon coalition's use of the city of Hathon as a staging point. (The War of the Masters: "Past Continuous")

Political views[]

Some Nationalists were in favor of having the Republic of Bajor secede from the United Federation of Planets; however, the last First Minister of Bajor to suggest this was removed from office by a recall election a month later. (The War of the Masters: "Looking into Enemy Eyes")
