Battle of Rumarda | Operation Blue Room |
The Battle of Tyra was a engagement between the Starfleet Seventh Fleet and Dominion forces in the Tyra system during the Dominion War.
The battle resulted in a devastating loss for the Federation with only fourteen ships of the one hundred and twelve vessels of the Seventh Fleet surviving. The losses were a significant blow to Federation morale. (DS9: "A Time to Stand")
Star Trek: The Adventures of Argus[]
In an attempt to halt the advance of the Dominion's forces into Federation space, the Seventh Fleet was ordered to intercept them at Tyra. However the Dominion fleet arrived three days earlier than expected, destroying the USS London in orbit of Tyra III and ambushing the Federation Fleet when it arrived a day later. When the USS Argus, USS Valkyrie and USS Brunel arrived they found the battle had already ended and the fleet decimated, and immediately launched a search and rescue of the survivors. (Star Trek: The Adventures of Argus: "Trial By Fire")

The Dominion War Sourcebook[]
The Seventh Fleet was sent to halt the Dominion's advance at the Tyra system. Under the command of Admiral Borren D'gret the fleet formed a defensive bulwark between the sixth and seventh planets in the system. The Seventh was engaged by a force of 248 ships under the command of Gul Pettar.
The Dominion fleet split its larger force into three groups, one attacking head on and the other two flanking the Seventh. In the initial clash the Dominion forces destroyed no less then fifteen vessels. In the second pass the Gevrok, Pettar's ship, managed to destroy Admiral D'gret's flagship, the USS North Star.
The fleet continued to fight for another hour but was too outnumbered and outgunned. As the remaining fourteen ships retreated they witnessed the Dominion forces mercilessly destroying the disabled Starfleet vessels that could not retreat, no prisoners were taken. 24,000 Starfleet personnel lost their lives in the battle.

Star Trek: Lambda Paz[]
During the early months of the Dominion War, the Dominion began setting up a supply line between the Cardassian Union and the Klingon Empire. Initial efforts to cut off that supply line had failed. Around stardate 51102, the Starfleet dispatched the Seventh Fleet to make a stand in the Tyra system.
For nearly a month, the two sides engaged in small-scale hit-and-run attacks attempting to weaken and divide enemy forces. One successful engagement involved the USS Lambda Paz taking refuge in the atmosphere of a gas giant and outsmarting two Jem'Hadar fighters. These engagements culminated in the Battle of Tyra, in which the Seventh Fleet was at less than half strength after heavy losses at Sector 21607. Only 14 of 112 ships survived the battle. (Star Trek: Lambda Paz, " Revenge a Dish Best Served Cold", " Moral Dilemma)
