Gul Bernak was a Cardassian Guardsman from the 24th century. A veteran of both the Dominion War and the Klingon-Cardassian War he led a post-war faction called the Bernakians. Vying for power of the Cardassian Union Bernak wanted to dissolve the union and expel all non-Cardassians. (The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon)
