Branwyn Asherah

Branwyn Asherah was a Federation Starfleet security officer on duty in the late 23rd and early 24th centuries. (Project Potemkin: "Room Service", Starship Tristan)

Starfleet Career

Lieutenant Asherah was of hybrid ancestry -- Orion and Betazoid.

In 2299, she was a security officer on the Constitution-class heavy cruiser USS Potemkin until that ship was destroyed during a skirmish with Romulan forces. ("Room Service")

Asherah was later chief of security on the USS Tristan. Early life

Asherah was born on Betazed to a Betazoid mother and Orion father.

The empathy of her Betazoid heritage did not surface until recently, and she often had trouble confusing other people's emotions with her own. Asherah has an issue with her Orion roots insofar as she disagrees with the slavery and violence associated with Orion culture.

While in Starfleet, Asherah trained for a security position in order to protect people. This decision, and her abilities, was enhanced by her empathy.

Friendships

Asherah was close with T'Noshi and Edgar Mathias, with whom she had transferred from Potemkin to Tristan. ("Room Service") The death of Dr. Mathias during an away mission affected the two women greatly. ("Departures")
