Breezie McKormic

Breezie McKormic is an independent human captain of the Miranda-class starship Unreliable, having fixed up and claimed the ship in 2364 after gathering a crew. (The Unreliable's Light)

Early Life

Born on the NV-129 Byzantium in 2189, Breezie spent most of her early years on said ship. When she was 2, Q showed up and decided to give Breezie chronokinetic abilities just for a bit of fun, disappearing before anyone else came into the room Breezie was in. Of course she wouldn’t be able to activate, much less control, her Chono-Stop ability until she was older.

She stayed with the ship for a while, before being sent out when she was 12 to live with her Uncle Alex, who had a passion for learning culture and philosophy. He helped her through her teenage years, even giving her a unique version of “The Talk”. She listened to his wisdom on how people work, and to not force yourself into a role that doesn't fit. Breezie, through a few local quizzes in her uncle’s hometown of Montague, California, managed to get a scholarship opportunity at Starfleet Academy at 19, and took the opportunity. The last time she saw her uncle, he told her “To fight is one thing, to kill is another.” She didn’t understand what that meant, but she still kept it in her head.

She wasn’t the top of her class at the academy, but she was good at taking in the information given to her and applying it in creative and unique ways. An example was a demonstration of modulating shields on a ship to ‘bounce’ enemy fire back for her academy project.

Career

Once she graduated in 2214, she was assigned to a Daedalus class starship called USS Light of Man, to prepare a starbase in a distant solar system and hopefully make a branch for the Federation. She made it onto the ship, and went to cryosleep with most of the starbase crew… before they were knocked out of warp. Not knowing someone sabotaged the Warp Core, the Light of Man continued on impulse only. During this time, Breezie was taken by Benn Medzin and taken to his lab. Breezie was launched out, unknowingly spending 150 years in cryosleep… ("Launching Day")

Reawakening in the 24th Century

2364

In 2364, Breezie finally landed on Terra IV (crushing Benn’s descendant, Penn Medzin in the process). There she found the abandoned Unreliable. She travelled around town and gathered a crew before taking off. ("Launching Day") She later made the choice to add railguns to the Unreliable that same year, moments before noticing the beginning of a Terran invasion. After helping defeat the ISS Vortex & the ISS Reliable, she (along with her ship) were recruited to help fight against the Terran Empire only 5 light years from the Sol system. The battle was successful with minimal loss and after, Breezie, her crew & the Unreliable were officiated as allies of Starfleet. ("Mirror Leakage")

Later that same year, Breezie and her crew came across the NX-02 Columbia, Breezie herself going aboard the ship with Sutaba & Devoid, the latter of which being attacked by the parasite. In order to gather some help, she took Sally’s advice and allowed her to get Wally from his home planet. After this, she went to Starbase 523 to gather information, managing to collect it before the Unreliable could’ve been destroyed. The Unreliable & the USS Lynimick were the only two surviving ships, with a lot of the crew of the former temporarily moving to the latter, a Swornfree class ship to help with research and development of an antidote for Devoid, Breezie being one of many. During her time aboard the Lynimick, the parasite broke out, leading Breezie and the Lynimick’s security officer Tasha Yar to disable the parasite, who even took Tasha’s form. Breezie helped the Unreliable win against the NX-02, leading to the latter getting destroyed by torpedoes from both the Unreliable & the Lynimick. After the battle, Breezie successfully got Wally to join her crew. ("Parasitic Relic")

2365

The next year, Breezie was involved in an investigation into an unknown planet after detecting several unknown lifeforms along with Humans. This led to her and her away team being a part of several first contacts with species on the planet along with the discovery of the USS Kolkata. This led to a conflict with Safi’jiiva when the elder dragon began attacking during the crew's investigation of the Kolkata. This led to a battle between Safi’jiiva & the Unreliable where the latter won by firing a photon torpedo into the elder dragon during the charging period of Safi’jiiva's ultimate attack. That same year, Breezie was part of an away team with Andy, Sally & Gary which went to the Rainbow Factory, which was seemingly last visited by the USS Kelvin back in 2228. During the mission, Breezie's EV suit was damaged, exposing her to the toxic Chroma fumes and getting hallucinations of Agent Rainbow along with altering her mental state. She and her away team had also found VHS tapes depicting the decay of the factory and its workers. During the battle against said factory, the USS Andromeda beamed the away team out before the factory was destroyed. Breezie was soon given medication to help ward off the effects of the exposure. Later, Breezie, along with the Unreliable and its crew, were forced to escape to an alternate 2393 thanks to the Hiss, where they encountered the USS Phoenix-X. Breezie met with Night Seifer in order to discuss differences between timelines, where Breezie states her hatred for Captain Kirk. During the escape of the alternate timeline, Breezie temporarily captained the Phoenix-X, but swiftly returned to her own ship once they had evacuated back to her timeline's 2365. Breezie later told Briggs about Andorian Cider, a massively intoxicating alchoholic drink in her timeline, sending some to the Phoenix-X, which led to BOB getting severely intoxicated to the point his cognitive awareness needed medical recovery. She also helped in defeating the Hiss in the Lost Void by transmitting Sally's plan of overloading the Hiss with chronitons, leading her to explode like a balloon. Breezie was also instrumental in first contact with the Voidlings. After returning and realising they had taken one of the Phoenix-X's shuttles, Breezie decided to get to work and make it her own. 2366

Breezie had done 2 important things at the start of this year, that being the refit & renaming of Edward to Tyson & the integration of Johannah Jackson into her crew. She also met Johannah's old captain, Hikaru Sulu. ("New Ewe On Deck")

After a mission to Deneb V, the Unreliable was sent to Hell through a transwarp accident. There the ship was threatened to be stolen by Vox, to which Breezie killed the signal before Vox could threaten them. Breezie went down to the surface in Tyson to investigate, only to find Valentino who she beat up after she spotted him spiking a drink. Later on, she met Vaggie in a junkyard, who joined them after Breezie used Tyson to shoot down one of Valentino's limos believed to be delievering goods. Breezie later returned to the Unreliable after Vox's attack on the ship, where they devised a plan to break into the Vee Tower. Breezie led the charge, shattering the doors and destroying the love potion lab before breaking into Velvette's studio. There, she inadvertedly used Velvette's stream to turn her fans against her before fighting back, beaming out just as the fans mauled Velvette to death. Breezie was also a part of Valentino's death, ordering a photon torpedo to be fired on him. After the Vees were killed & Vaggie left the ship, Breezie & the crew went to Risa for a well deserved break. ("DownVall")
