Caar was a male Tellarite who served as a non-commissioned officer in Starfleet in the late 24th century. He held many positions aboard the USS Pendragon (NCC-85000), beginning in 2379. (Star Trek: Pendragon)

Caar was assigned to the Pendragon as part of her shakedown engineering crew in 2379. Under the direction of Lieutenant Svek, he was instrumental in averting a warp core breach initiated by sabotage. (PDN: "True North")

Aboard the Pendragon, Caar became friends with many of the "lower decks" crewmen. As a petty officer, and later chief petty officer, Caar served in the Pendragon's engineering department until 2382, when he replaced Jason Bartholomew as transporter chief. He remained in that position at least until 2385, at which time he was also chief of the boat. (PDN: "The Hand of God")

Memorable quotes[]

"I guess having a transparent cranium doesn't automatically mean you think clearly, does it?"
— An exasperated Chief Caar to the Gallamite Crewman Jehcy. (PDN: "The Distant Fire")

Background information[]

  • In photomanipulations done for Star Trek: Pendragon, Caar is "played" by Simon Baker.
  • Chief Caar has the distinction of being the only Pendragon crewmember introduced in the pilot "True North" still serving on the vessel in the series finale, "The Hand of God", seven years later.
