A fanzine is a magazine produced by fans, which would include a variety of different works, including fan fiction, all created by, and for fans of Star Trek.

Initially printed, bound and mailed to a small subscriber list, the arrival of the internet has made it easier for these to reach a much wider audience. Comparatively, the Internet itself has also made the use of printed and bound fanzines less practical, and many are now sent out electronically.
