Ceremonial is a short story by the pseudonymous jespah.
The story is told from the perspective of Charles Tucker III (mirror), after leaving the USS Defiant.
On April 9, 2160, Tucker, an escapee from Empress Hoshi Sato (mirror), is on Lafa II, with his wife, Elizabeth Cutler (mirror), and their son, Charles Tucker VI. Living as poachers, and more or less homeless, the family pledges their allegiance to the Calafan government in a citizenship ceremony.
