Charles Ingrum was the son of Patrick C. Ingrum, first captain of the USS Baldwin. He was commonly known as "Charlie."

When his father was killed in a Cardassian attack on the Baldwin in 2309, the surviving senior officer, chief engineer Everett Palmer offered condolences to the Ingrum family, noting that Charlie Ingrum had memories of his father, in contrast to first officer Jennifer Ripley's son, Jimmy.

His grandson, also named Patrick Ingrum, would also command the Baldwin (USS Baldwin: "Two of Us")

Background[edit | edit source]

The name comes from a previous pet of USS Baldwin author Richie Kennedy, a small dog named "Charlie."
