Cloak and Dagger is an incomplete 15-chapter fan-fiction novel, by the pseudonymous Anna Amuse, set during James T. Kirk's first five-year mission as commanding officer of the Enterprise. Cloak and Dagger is set in the same continuity as Absolute Horizon.
- The story alludes to Kirk's having taken command of Enterprise 2½ years previously, and the M-5 wargames from "The Ultimate Computer" are in the recent past, so it is set in 2268.
In the story, Spock is accused of murdering the Legourian ambassador; an old acquaintance of Scotty's and Spock's is missing, and some machinations by upper levels of two Starfleet divisions become evident.
