Lieutenant Daniels was a Starfleet security officer in the late 24th century. He served as security chief and tactical officer aboard the USS Enterprise-E from at least 2373 to 2375. During those years, he fought the Borg when they boarded the Enterprise, and engaged the Son'a in the Battle of the Briar Patch. (Star Trek: First Contact, Star Trek: Insurrection)
- His first name was never revealed in canon, and he wasn't named at all until Star Trek: Insurrection. Prior to that film's release, the Star Trek CCG gave his name as Thomas McClure. He was named Pádraig Bréanainn Daniels in several novels published by Pocket Books.
Additional data[]
Daniels took paternity leave from the Enterprise in the middle of 2374, during which time a succession of security chiefs served in his absence. He retired from Starfleet after the Dominion War, and was replaced by Lieutenant Christine Vale in 2376. (TNG novels: Slings and Arrows, A Time for War, A Time for Peace)
Star Trek: Pendragon[]
Pádraig Daniels was part of the commando team that snuck past Admiral Leyton's blockade of Sector 001 to liberate the USS Enterprise-E during the Federation Civil War. He continued to serve aboard her as tactical officer and security chief into the 2380s. (PDN: "Patriot's Insurrection", "Restoration")
