To defend it fron the hazards of space , it had [[unimatrix shield]]ing, [[parametallic hull plating]], and a [[tetraburnium]] alloy hull. It was propelled at warp with a pair of retractable nacelles. The weapon system was borg-inspired, consisting of pulse phasers and [[photonic missile]]s. Tom Paris included many 20th century enbellishments in the desigh, although he was disappointed when Tuvok did not allow him to include dynametric tailfins in the design.

The Delta Flyer was a shuttlecraft designed and constructed by the crew of the USS Voyager in 2375. A unique vessel; it was a mix of Starfleet and Borg technology and was designed to handle the dangerous conditions in the Delta Quadrant. (VOY: "Extreme Risk")

In 2377, the Delta Flyer was destroyed during a mission to infiltrate a number of Voyager's crew into a Borg tactical cube. (VOY: "Unimatrix Zero")

Information

The Delta Flyer was a Delta-class runabout. (Star Trek: Arcadia)

History

Following Voyager's return to the Alpha Quadrant the Delta Flyer design started to appear on other Federation starships such as the USS Dauntless. (Star Trek: Dauntless)

Delta Flyer (timeship)

In an alternate timeline, in 2377, during Voyager's mission to infiltrate the Borg tactical cube, instead of being destroyed, captured Corps Engineer Beck convinced the Borg Queen to take the Delta Flyer and install a stolen-temporal displacement drive onto it. Beck then hijacked the Flyer and went into the past, in an attempt to stop the Borg from taking the displacement drive from Section 31 in the first place. Fortunately, he succeeded, but his original self and the original displacement drive were destroyed, leaving him, as a duplicate, and the displacement drive-fitted-Delta Flyer as existing duplicates. (Star Trek: Phoenix-X: "Displacement Syndrome")

The primary timeline result was that the original Delta Flyer was destroyed by the Borg tactical cube, in the Delta Quadrant. (VOY: "Unimatrix Zero")

Beck continued to use the duplicate Delta Flyer as a personal timeship for some time, until returning to some time during 2377 to 2381 to hand the temporal displacement drive back over to Section 31. (Star Trek: Phoenix-X: "Temporal Doom! Part I", "Displacement Syndrome")
