Deniece Maliszewski was a Federation Starfleet officer, of Polish descent, on active duty in the late 23rd century.
Maliszewski was director of the Excelsior transwarp project beginning in 2275. While the project itself was considered a failure, it did result in a faster warp drive. (Orion Press: "Never Forget")
Afterwards, she served as chief engineer and second officer of the USS Cooper under Captain Hikaru Sulu from 2286 to 2290. Maliszewski transferred with Sulu to the Excelsior when he assumed command of that vessel. (Orion Press: A Little Family Secret)
