The Dorvan sector was a sector through which the Federation-Cardassian border ran. (Star Trek: Star Charts)
Following the treaty between the two powers in 2370 it also contained part of the Demilitarized Zone. Dorvan V was one of the planets that was transferred over to Cardassian rule. (TNG: "Journey's End")
