"Duties and Responsibilities" is a fan-fiction short story, by Randall Landers, set in the Orion Press continuity. It was published in hardcopy in 2001 and online. (The hardcopy edition also includes the novel Chekov's Enterprise; ship design and specifications, and the bridge layout, of the Enterprise-B; and "The Russian Rules of Engagement," as written by Pavel Andreievich Chekov.)
The story takes place in early 2295, during Pavel Chekov's tenure as commanding officer of the Enterprise-B. Chekov receives disturbing news from home.
