"Embracing the Winds" is the seventh episode of the fan film series Star Trek Continues.
The Enterprise is assigned to salvage a starship that lost its crew under mysterious circumstances, while Kirk and Spock are summoned to a starbase for a classified briefing.
Background information[]
- This is the second appearance of Commodore Gray, previously seen in "Lolani".
- This episode takes into account the controversial line from TOS: "Turnabout Intruder" and suggests that Starfleet really does discourage female captains of larger starships due to the attitudes of the Tellarites.
- The fate of the USS Hood is dealt with in the finale of Star Trek Continues: "To Boldly Go, Part I" and "To Boldly Go, Part II".
