For the "regular" universe counterpart, see Erick Minard.

Erick Minard was a Starfleet engineer and line officer. He was assigned to the USS Valiant until that ship was destroyed during the Battle of Vulcan in 2258.

As many Starfleet vessels had been destroyed, Minard was one of many Starfleet personnel focused on rebuilding the Fleet. He was assigned to the USS Valiant (NCC-1707-A).

Minard's wife had died at the Battle of Vulcan. Sometime later, he journeyed to an alternate timeline to visit a counterpart who had suffered a similar loss. ("Without Reward")

For the longest time after her death Eric found concealment in talking with a variety of friends. ("Minard 2: Hemorrhage")

At some point Minard became commanding officer of the USS Isis (NCC-1512). During a mission to investigate an expanding black hole, they were sucked in and encountered an escape pod with an infant on board. Shortly after being sucked into another black hole. ("Wasteland"; Constar Completed: "Unsteady")

The black hole took them to a variety of different timelines. One of these was one where Minard had been killed and the Federation and Klingon Empire were at war. The next black hole entry took him to some point in the 2360s where he once again encountered his Prime timeline counterpart, the commanding officer of the USS Constar (NCC-1036-A).

By the 2380s his prime counterpart had met his end and this Minard took his place. ("Minard 2: Hemorrhage")

After some time in this universe he chose to settle down. He remarried and had a daughter with his new wife. Over time he looked for any time-travel device and he had a large collection of these artifacts, which became responsible for his journey to the prime timeline. In the late 2490s these items were stole by an unknown party, Minard believed the being know as Verner Voss was responsible. Voss had spoken of a prophecy about "the End of Days". ("Unsteady")

Minard Picard era

Minard became commanding officer of the USS Odyssey in the Prime timeline. In 2385, Odyssey blocked the USS Raincross from leaving spacedock when its captain, Anthony Lobato, defied the Starfleet ban on synths to protect one of his officers, Lieutenant Bell. After listening to Lobato plead his case, Minard pretended that Odyssey's comms were down and that his ship was in no shape for a pursuit. (Constar Completed: "Raincross") Several years later, Captain Chris Sanders consulted this Minard while searching for Eobard Minard. ("Unsteady")

Personal[]

Like his Prime counterpart, Minard had encountered quadlithium. Unlike his Prime counterpart, this Minard only encountered quadlithium once, and it did not slow down his aging process. However, he is physically about 40-45 years old due to time travel. ("Unsteady")

Beliefs[]

In contrast to his Prime counterpart, who had lost his faith after Emily Minard died, this Minard was a religious man, a Baptist. ("Unsteady") This came with some criticism by those around him.

Memorable quotes[]

"Losing someone you love can either make you break your faith completely or make you grow stronger. I choose my faith."
— Minard, on his faith. ("Calm, Cool and Collected")
