Commander Eva Alyson Caine was the chief science officer of the Federation starship USS Gustav P. Remington. (Star Trek: Remington: "Inceptum")

History

Early life

Eva Caine was born in 2346 on Earth to Rear Admiral Terrance Caine and Captain Patricia Caine, both career Starfleet officers. Her parents often served on different ships, so Eva alternated between living with her father and mother for lengthy periods of time, as did her two younger siblings, Harriet and Conrad. When she turned 18, she followed in her parents' footsteps and entered Starfleet Academy.

Starfleet Academy

While studying at the Academy, Eva was also a star pitcher for the Academy's softball team.

USS Winston Churchill

Upon graduating from the Academy, Caine was assigned to the USS Winston Churchill as a junior science officer. During this time, the Churchill was assigned to patrol the Federation-Cardassian border in the aftermath of the Federation-Cardassian War and was involved in several skirmishes along the border.

USS Balboa

When Caine was promoted to lieutenant, she took an assignment as the assistant chief science officer aboard the USS Balboa. She served in that capacity until being promoted to lieutenant commander and chief science officer four years later.

Personal life

Caine's father Terrance was the commanding officer of the USS Gibraltar and the Second Patrol Task Force. Her mother Patricia was the commanding officer of the USS Milan. Her younger sister, Harriet, served as a science officer aboard the USS Sergei Korolev and her younger brother, Conrad, served as the deputy intelligence officer aboard the USS Lukas Armbruster.
