Eva Privette was a Starfleet officer on active duty in the late 23rd and early 24th centuries. Privette, as a lieutenant, was posted to the Constellation-class cruiser USS Tristan in the dual role of colonial operations officer and tactical officer in the late 2290s.

In 2300, Privette was promoted to lieutenant commander and repositioned as executive officer. (Starship Tristan: "Sepulchre", "Pride and Prejudice") She later succeeded Captain Christian Walker as commanding officer. (Starship Tristan: "A Look in the Mirror")

Privette was part of a board of inquiry at Starbase 211 in 2306. ("The Castaway")

Privette was a native of Zebulon IX, a Class M planet near the periphery of the Sagittarius Arm of the galaxy. Zebulon was home to non-humanoids, non-Terran humanoids, and humans. She was trained to intervene between beings at different technology levels, and was proficient at creating an atmosphere of camaraderie betweem colonists and Starfleet personnel. Privette had a brother, Victor Carson Privette, who had died many years ago of Osborne's Syndrome while she was at Starfleet Academy. After the mission to 17 Camelopardi III, Privette commented to Commander Johnson, "[Our technological advances] don't make us God," suggesting she was raised in some form of Christianity. ("Seeing in the Dark")
