The Federation News Service (FNS) is a media agency that publishes and broadcasts news throughout the United Federation of Planets and known space. (TOS novel: Corona; DS9: "Valiant")
- The UFP Infonet (FASA) may be the name for this agency in another continuity.
Jordan Dennis became a reporter for the FNS at some point after 2374 (at least in the Pendragon timeline). He eventually hosted his own subspace broadcast, The Dennis Report. (Star Trek: Pendragon: "Wounded Soldiers", "Lighthouse In a Sea of Stars")
In 2401, Christopher Pike Medal of Valor recipient Zenon Kar submitted a letter to the FNS, advocating for the renaming of the USS Titan NCC-80102-A as the USS Enterprise-G. The then-recent naming of Kar as the youngest-ever recipient of the Pike Medal was the impetus that led Starfleet Commander-in-Chief Kirsten Clancy to order the renaming. (30 Worlds: Royal Megaforce: "Masters of the Ultimate Power")
