The Federation Special Operations Command or FSOCOM is the command within the Federation military charged with carrying out missions deemed too sensitive or difficult for standard Starfleet, Marine or Starfighter forces. (Star Trek: Remington)
Forces under SOCOM's command included the Starfleet SEALs and Marine Corps Force Recon. SOCOM often performed missions in conjunction with the Federation Intelligence Service's Special Operations Group.
