Gabriella Selena Montez was a Human Starfleet officer in the alternate timeline caused by the Romulan known as Nero.
She was assigned to the reality's USS Enterprise following her graduation from Starfleet Academy.
During her second year at the Academy, she met and fell in love with a Command cadet named Troy Bolton. The circumstances of how this relationship began are currently unknown.
Shortly after her arrival on the Enterprise, Ensign Montez was able to recover Amanda Grayson from the Enterprise's transporter pattern buffer, after Spock's mother was thought lost following the destruction of Vulcan.
For her actions in rescuing Amanda, Ensign Montez was awarded the Star of Surak, an award given by the Vulcan High Council to those non-Vulcans who embody Surak's most-closely held values. (A Flight to Remember)
