By 2293 Banner had made it back to the alternate universe. Over the years he had made a living working as a gun for hire by different clients, by this time the Romulans. During the battle the station was destroyed and sent out a temporal shock wave, transporting the Romulan ships to different timeframes in the past.

Banner was transported to the year 2256 where his ship found his counterpart, but in this time period he was still a cadet. When the ship tried to beam him and board it triggered a new temporal jump for both of them.
