Copyright[]

Does the copyright make sense here? How do you copyright fan art that is based on a copyright? lol --Hawku 05:34, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Don't LOL at it -- Anything that is originally composed or drawn is copyrightable to the person who did the drawing or composition. Especially if it doesn't use any trademarked words, trademarked symbols or copyrighted text -- none of which is in this image.
If it had been made using the copyrightable components from another's copyright, the art would still be attributable to the artist but uncopyrightable commercially -- which would mean it could be shared but not sold or edited by others without permission. -- Captain MKB 13:03, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for the clarity. Sorry for loling, Captainmike. --Hawku 15:25, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
