Flortarios III was a non-aligned trade planet in the binary star Flortarios system, wedged near the Cardassian-Federation border. The inhabitants were Flortarian, but most of the population were alien inhabitants and alien visitors. (Star Trek: Phoenix-X)

Historical[]

In 2234, Laumar Gotens was on the front lines of a conflict which involved the Federation and an enemy, on Flortarios III. Her crew was trapped, in a firefight with the opposition when she was suddenly shot. She died when she returned to the Trill homeworld, but her symbiont, Gotens, was saved and transferred to a new host, Rikonen Gotens. ("The Links' Traitor")

In 2292, the Federation held their Federation Eelstock Convention on Flortarios III. There, Rikonen Gotens ran into Daniel, but Daniel did not remember him. ("The Tiloniam System")

In 2347, the planet became caught between the Federation and the Cardassians during the Federation-Cardassian War. There, Rikonen hurt the Cardassian Meloneus' chances. Both Starfleet and the Cardassians were ultimately forced off by the aliens living there. ("The Bajoran Trove")

In 2374 the USS Phoenix-X commanded Task Force Epsilon to protect this planet and its system from the Dominion during the Dominion War. During the task force's meet and greet, the planet's Prime Minister Clingten was kidnapped by the Flortarian Underground, leading to an incursion of cloaked Dominion heavy cruisers in the solar system. Political[]

The government is divided by two main leader's, who each rule one half of the world. On occasion, they are exposed to their own people for risque love-affair scandals. ("The Bajoran Trove")

The planet contains many cities, but rocky mountains containing caves and underground passageways can be found in abundance. ("Experimentalism")

Background Information[]

  • The planet name was derived from combining both the names "Ontario" and "Florida".
