For a New World

For a New World is the twentienth episode of Star Trek: The Stoneship Files, as well as the series finale.

Summary

Act One

The Stoneship received information from Zaha pertaining to Jaid and Melda being taken hostage by U'lanna pirates. Upon approaching the U'lanna galleon, the crew realized that this U'lanna ship was unlike the others they have faced thus far. This ship was armed with X-ray lasers and merculite rocket launchers. Lyran Starfleet Command then gave Brianna Reiss instructions; however, Brianna started to negotiate the return of their occupants to their ancestral homeworld. The King-Emperor of the Lyran Star Empire gave the U'lanna a lenghty list of terms and conditions, codified under the Treaty of Trestahn.

Act Two

The Treaty provided for an institution of higher education that was to be U'lanna-operated, the Imperial College of Sexology, which was to train the entire internal supply of sexologists in the Lyran Star Empire. At the same time, Jaid and Melda trained some security guards to the rigors of municipal administration. And a referendum is underway about the ratification of the Treaty, with the entire crew of the ship participating, 1,255 in favor and 557 against it. And so began the process of building the College, with some new faculty, like Jo Hunter, and admitting the first students.
