Well, we have our first article from STO on here now and I'm a bit confounded as to how to source material from within the game. I don't mean timeline or info on ship class since the STO website can be the source, but a person's character, their ship and crew and their exploits...that is what I'm struggling to wrap my head around.

Actually, is this material even appropriate for STEU? Would it fall under MB's purview given they deal with licensed games? – JayLR 08:38, January 16, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm a bit confused as well since every player's experience is different. It would be extremely difficult to reconcile different players' accounts. --Kevin W.Talk to me 08:44, January 16, 2010 (UTC)
I think fan fic BASED on STO would be okay here. Say, if someone wrote up their experiences in a fan fic or fan film. Thats along the lines of what I plan to do. Generic info on the game would be more for MB. Luke80 09:20, January 16, 2010 (UTC)
That sounds good. --Kevin W.Talk to me 09:24, January 16, 2010 (UTC)
I agree with Luke80. Maybe we should limit STEU to just that material? As for player profile such as Jason Krex, stuff that is purely "in game", we exclude from STEU and instead send them on to a STO specific wiki. Basically the same way we leave purely canon or non-canon material to MA or MB.
Had a quick look around and Star Trek Online Geekipedia seems to be the largest STO wiki out there. There is also one on wikia but it doesn't seem as organised as STOG. – JayLR 03:45, January 18, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I'd have to agree with that, if we don't do something, we'll have a flood of nonsensical STO articles. Perhaps we need a STO specific nosource type template that directs people to STOGeek.– Cpthunt 19:09, January 18, 2010 (UTC)
