For the Star Trek: The Prospect Chronicles and Star Trek: The Cantabrian Expeditions episode of the same name, see Gravity (TPC-TCE episode).

Gravity is a phenomenon involving the mutual attraction of objects with mass. Antigravity is the negation of that force.

A flying belt found inside a Slaver stasis box held the secret of antigravity. (TAS: "The Slaver Weapon")

In July, 1976, the Apollo 22 mission was launched around the same time as the Viking probes to Mars. It was not revealed to the general public that a Slaver stasis box was discovered, containing a flying belt. Years later, the secret of synthetically generated gravity was derived from this discovery. (Star Trek: Shadowstar Station)
