The Hyterians were an ancient and highly advanced civilization rumored to have existed some 500,000 years before the 24th century. The Hyterian civilization was a space-faring society before the Vulcans, Bajorans and the Iconians. (The Star Eagle Adventures)

Society & culture[]

Not much is known about the Hyterians as their civilization practically vanished from the galactic stage millennia before the rise of the Federation.

The Hyterians did construct numerous colonies light year|s from their home world. They possessed an architectural style which fused marble-like stone with highly advanced technology which would cause walls to emanate heat signatures. While their structures were reminiscent of ancient Earth architecture such as Ancient Roman and Greek, their technology was usually hidden from view within their structures.

Hyterians also constructed space stations within asteroids by seamlessly fusing their technology with the natural interior of the asteroid. The Hyterians used a complex water based life support system, self-repairing technology and automated drones as a security system on their space stations.

Possibly their greatest achievement was the creation of an artificial biosphere within a hollow planetoid.

Appearance & abilities[]

Hyterians were tall, slender and graceful humanoids with thick feather like hair and claw like hands. Able to communicate telepathically they had a singsong sounding voice when they spoke.

Hyterians were believed to be an extremely superstitious race and worshiped Fen'dera, god of light and righteousness.

They were inherently scared of darkness and it is believed that their physiology required the light to survive similar in the way as most humanoids require oxygen.

Modern discovery[]

The most noteworthy discovery of the Hyterian civilization took place in early 2373 when the starship USS Eagle discovered Hyteria, their home world, during a stellar cartography mission at the outer edge of Federation territory.

In the course of Eagle's investigation a number of Hyterian colonies and structures were discovered along with more data and physical evidence than at any previous time.

Eagle's discovery was sure to keep the scientific community busy for years in revealing many more secrets left behind by the Hyterians.
