The IRC Taipan (R053) was a DY-class sublight transport, of the DY-135 Black Mamba regulatory cutter subclass, in service with the International Space Agency during (at least) the mid-21st century. These vessels performed search, rescue, and regulatory enforcement roles for the New United Nations and were specifically targeted by the ECON in the open conflict period of World War III.
