==History==
Jack Annand took command of {{class|Excelsior}} ''Cantabrian'' after Captain [[Thekla Lawless]]'s retirement in 2330.

During his time aboard the ''Cantabrian'', he became known as a charismatic and charming commanding officer, making many successful [[first Contact|first contacts]] with various [[Beta Quadrant]] powers.  [[Doctor|Drs.]] [[Eccleston]] and [[Tennant]] were [[chief medical officer]]s during his tour aboard the ''Cantabrian''.

In 2341, Annand disappeared under mysterious circumstances.  Neither he nor his body was ever found, and [[Starfleet]] eventually declared him deceased.

In [[2373]], while investigating a mystery, ''Cantabrian'' Captain [[Noah Wrightson]] and [[Counselor]] [[Daniel Radke]] believed they may have found Annand but were mistaken.  {{tcee|The Stars Fill The Sky, So In Love With You Am I}}

==Background information==
*The last name Annand is a play on {{w|John Barrowman}}'s {{w|Doctor Who}} and {{w|Torchwood}} character, [[wikipedia:Jack Harkness|Captain Jack Harkness]].  Harkness and Annand are surnames from the same area in {{w|Scotland}}, with Annand being short for someone from [[wikipedia:Annandale, Dumfries and Galloway|Annandale]], where the Harkness surname is thought to have originated from.
*Doctors Eccleston and Tennant are tips of the hat to the actors who played Doctor Who during Barrowman's time on the show.
