James T. Kirk was a Federation Starfleet officer who served as the commanding officer of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701). He previously served as first officer of the Enterprise and was instrumental in defeating Nero. (Star Trek)
He was also vital in the exposure of Admiral Marcus, who was going to use the superhuman powers of Khan to enact war. (Star Trek Into Darkness)
Childhood[]
James grew up as boy growing up without his father (George Kirk), who died while saving Winona Kirk (James's mother) and James himself, from Nero. James and his mother moved back to Iowa. His mother eventually remarried, but James didn't "connect" well with his stepfather, and eventually became rebellious. This rebellion lead to James stealing his stepfather's 20th Century Chevy Corvette, driving it over the speed limit, being pursued over by an authority figure, and eventually recklessly leaping out of the car.
