Jaresh-Inyo was a Grazerite politician who rose to become the President of the United Federation of Planets during the 2370s.
Jaresh-Inyo's time in office was significant controversy due to an attempted coup by Starfleet Vice Admiral Leyton in 2372. (DS9: "Homefront", "Paradise Lost")
In late-2373, Jaresh-Inyo resigned from the presidency after deciding he was ill-suited to lead the Federation as it prepared for war with the Dominion. (The Dominion War Sourcebook: The Fires of Armageddon)
Legacy[]
At least two starships were named after Jaresh-Inyo, the Galaxy-class explorer USS Jaresh-Inyo (NCC-71859) and the Prometheus-class tactical cruiser USS Jaresh-Inyo (NCC-74922).
