Jena (War of the Masters)

Jena was a reserve Moab Confederacy officer and small business owner in the early 25th century. (The War of the Masters)

Family

Jena had a Klingon stepfather in the Little Qo'noS part of Moab III's capital city, two stepbrothers, a business partner, and said business partner's infamous dataslicer sister.

Suspected: Former Starfleet Special Operations officer Carlos LaRoca. If this is true, then she is a direct blood relative of Admiral Jesu LaRoca.

History

Jena was conceived in the after-party of the Dominion War some two years before she was born. In her life she has been a prostitute, stevedore, bartender, cook, biochemist, soldier, and businesswoman.

Aside from the prostitution as a youth, she has studiously avoided nearly every stereotypical profession her 'kind' are known for. Her mother was an assassin and prostitute (both traditional roles for the native shapeshifters of the Empire), and she is notably much more comfortable with her more 'legitimate roles' in the Confederacy (co-owner of a popular barbecue establishment that also serves as a bar and information brokerage).

Her commission was activated shortly after she had to flee Moab III, and she spent most of the Civil War doing 'that other job'. Notable conflicts included the extraction of some forty or so elected representatives being held prisoner/in protective custody by Flattop members of the Reconciliation Coalition after irregularities in the elections in 2412 came to light and the newly-installed Governor declared martial law (and began rounding up rivals and members of competing parties).

Despite her own claims to the contrary, Jena is very good at the kind of things you need a commando to be good at.

She worked for the MacAulliffe faction for most of the conflict, and was kept in active service afterward. She was tapped for command of MCDS Mitchellville to participate in the Joint Task Force Myrmidon at the personal request of First Minister Debra MacAulliffe.

Jena's an interesting study in some ways-she was a commando for one side, yet managed to maintain good personal relations with two national leaders at odds with each other in the middle of a civil war. This 'diplomacy' was one of the chief reasons she was tapped for JTF Myrmidon.

Her choices of crew included a lot of people who'd just spent the last year and a half trying to kill one another. She managed them, she managed to get them to cooperate and work together.

While serving on JTF Myrmidon, she managed to win the trust of Admiral Kanril Eleya who recommended her for a bump up in rank, and then oversaw a second bump in rank after Jena recovered both Odo and Captain Kira Nerys from the ambush on the H'urq home world.
