"King of the Iron Fist Tournament" was the sixty-fourth episode of Star Trek: Phoenix-X. It was the fourteenth episode of the third season.
Summary[]
After beating the Blejerk at their own game in forcing the Phoenix-X crew to fight, Captain Cell decides to hold a fighting competition aboard the Phoenix-X. Many of the crew decide to get involved, except of course for RaeLuna, who ironically holds on to the non-violence values of the Federation - and GoyCho, who prefers phasers to hand-to-hand combat. The Klingons devise a strategy to fight Captain Cell, and Cell himself pits his abilities against the combat android Omega.
Memorable quotes[]
- "I was wondering if you were up for a special fight between me and you?"
"Is that permissible? No one is to fight the Captain of the Phoenix-X."
"It is if I allow it. Now are you in? I feel as if no one can stand a chance against us, but perhaps against each other we can be worthy opponents."
"If that is what you wish, then I will engage in battle at the appointed time."
"Great! I’ll make the arrangements. In the meantime, you may want to lose a few pounds." - — Cell and Omega
Background information[]
- This episode makes use of the Phoenix-X's most recurring room, the Battle Arena.
- At the end of Omega's battle, he reports his 'level-up' statistics: "Level 34. HP; 6741. MP; 355." The numbers have no significant reference meaning, but the Level/HP/MP categories were based on the same categories that appear in the video game Final Fantasy battle system.
- The episode title King of the Iron Fist Tournament was named after the tournaments in the Tekken video game series.
