Kira Nerys

Kira Nerys was an officer in the Bajoran Militia following the Occupation of Bajor. During the occupation she fought in the Bajoran Resistance. She served as Bajoran liaison officer to Starfleet on the Federation-administered station, Deep Space 9. In 2375, she was given command of the station following the disappearance of her predecessor. (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine)In 2372, Kira greeted Captain Jeri Allston and Commander Jonathan Masters when their ship docked with the station following the First Battle of Deep Space 9. (Star Trek: Swiftfire: "The Darkness Within")Kira was placed in temporary command of Deep Space 9 after Captain Benjamin Sisko took leave following the First Battle of Chin'toka.
